Studio assistant: $11 / hour
We are a not-for-profit offering a small number of hours/week for an eager learner with a basic to intermediate level of experience with recording studio fundamentals.
The Studio Assistant position is an opportunity for a motivated, technical mind with patience, a sense of humor, and a powerful respect for the old school. Some commercial studio or advanced home studio experience desired. Some analog recording experience preferred.
The Studio Assistant will commit to a minimum of 6 hours/week but will frequently have the opportunity to work more hours.
Tasks include setup and breakdown for recording sessions, equipment cleaning, maintenance, testing and calibration (training provided) as well as some more mundane things like logging tape and moving stuff around.
While this is primarily a technical role, other potential tasks include managing social media accounts and our volunteer and equipment databases, soliciting donations, billing, etc.
Growth potential for Studio Interns includes the part-time roles of Assistant Engineer and Engineer.
Please be familiar with our various press appearances, website, and general philosophy and write a personal letter that explains why you'd be a good fit. Please include any experience, skills and goals that you think apply.
